In EA FC 25, you can choose one of two strong, dynamic cards to conclude Season 5. To obtain the free professional with the potentially best upgrades, you should make your decision only after today’s Champions League matches on Tuesday (March 11, 2025). We explain why on MeinMMO.
Which strong players are we talking about? It’s about the player choice from the free Season Pass at Level 35. In this choice, you must decide between the dynamic event cards of Dani Olmo (FC Barcelona) and Szoboszlai (FC Liverpool).
A player choice has the disadvantage that you have to commit to one professional. Unfortunately, after your decision, you will no longer have a chance to get the other player.
What kind of players are they exactly? Both professionals are Road-to-the-Final players (RTTF) for the UEFA Champions League. Thus, they belong to dynamic cards in Ultimate Team that can gather upgrades in the coming weeks and months, depending on how their teams perform in European competitions.
However, before you redeem the player choice, you should wait to see which of the RTTF cards will actually progress to the next round.
Wait until this evening to secure guaranteed upgrades
Why should you choose the player only this evening? The return matches of the knockout stage in the Champions League that will affect the ratings of the RTTFs of Dani Olmo and Szoboszlai will take place this evening (March 11, 2025, kickoff times at 6:45 PM and 9:00 PM).
After today’s round of 16 return matches, it will be clear whether Dani Olmo and/or Szoboszlai will receive another +1 rating upgrade and a Player Role++. Additionally, they can secure further strong upgrades leading up to a potential Champions League win, as you can see below:
- Win or draw in the round of 16: +1 overall rating (OVR)
- Advancement to the quarter-finals: +1 OVR & 1 Player Role++
- Advancement to the semi-finals: +1 OVR & +1★ Skill Moves or Weak Foot
- Advancement to the final: +1 PlayStyle (+2 PlayStyle+ if the player only has one PlayStyle+)
- Win in the final: +1 OVR or 96 OVR & 5★ Skill Moves or Weak Foot
Another extra tip: If you also wait for the matches on Wednesday (March 12), you will even know against whom the respective players will play with their teams in the next round. This way, you can choose the professional who meets the seemingly weaker opponent in the quarter-finals, as he thus has a better chance of progressing again and receiving further upgrades.
Attention: The Season Pass and item choices end on March 13, 2025. By then, you must have claimed the RTTF cards.
Unfortunately, this small trick does not work for the RTTFs of the UEFA Women’s Champions League (Season Pass Level 25), as the quarter-finals will only take place on March 18, 2025. However, if you still need a recommendation, it might be worth betting on Damaris Egurrola from Olympique Lyon. The team from France dominated its group in the group stage and is considered one of the biggest favorites for the title.
