Season 5 of Diablo 4 has been revealed, and the main focus is on the Uniques, all of which will receive an update.
What is the new season about? The new season of Diablo is called “Season of the Infernal Hordes” and sends players into battle against enemies from hell.
Included is the new endgame game mode “Infernal Hordes”, where players have 60 seconds to defeat a wave of enemies. After each wave, players choose from three curses and blessings that permanently modify their run. The further players progress, the more rewards likely await them at the end.
For many players, the main focus of the new season will be on the Uniques, as there are significant changes taking place.
Everything changes with the new season
What changes with the Uniques? With the new season, Blizzard changes almost all Uniques in the game. The developers want the Uniques to feel special again and thus buff all of them. Some examples are already known (via PCGamer.com):
- Seal of the Saboteur (Rogue): Now causes larger and more powerful grenade explosions
- Purple Fields (Barbarian): Now increases the explosion size of “Rupture” and boosts your damage against bleeding enemies
- Greatstaff of the Vettel (Druid): Now always hits two enemies for high damage with “Storm Strike”
- Bellow from the Depths (Necromancer): Now increases the speed and damage of “Corpse Explosion”
- Staff of Lam Esen (Sorceress): Now adds a 75% chance for “Charged Bolts” to be cast twice

In addition to the buffs to the old Uniques, 50 new Uniques and Legendary items will also be introduced with the new season. These are meant to stay and will not disappear with the end of the season.
According to Blizzard, your best chance of getting the new weapons is by playing the new game mode and progressing far in it. Players can also look forward to new changes in the rare Uber Uniques.
What changes with the Uber Uniques? The Uber Uniques will receive a new name. In the future, they will be called Mythic Uniques. Additionally, it will be easier to see them as they will have a beam of light that makes them clearly visible, ensuring that you never miss them.
