The current roadmap of Destiny 2 has many gaps; leaks suggest that players can expect a few surprises in Season 10.
Currently, the Season of the Worthy is ongoing in Destiny 2 . Season 10 has arrived, as is customary, with a so-called roadmap. This roadmap outlines the direction for the upcoming months. Players can find activities and events with varying degrees of detail, allowing them to know what to expect or whether, for example, purchasing the current season is worthwhile.
However, compared to previous roadmaps, the one for Season 10 is relatively thin and contains significant gaps. According to savvy data miners, these gaps will likely be filled soon.
What secrets are still awaiting players in Season 10? We at this point warn of spoilers and cannot confirm the authenticity of the leaked information 100%. Even though the two data miners (Ginsor and JpDeathblade) have an astonishingly high accuracy rate with their previous predictions, these are not official information.
Here’s what the Guardians can expect in the near future:
- The return of an old enemy is said to be imminent – findings suggest that SIVA is returning as a threat.
- The Iron Lord Felwinter and his iconic weapon will play a larger role – according to the latest information, he has a direct connection to Rasputin and is said to be corrupted by or even the son of the Warmind.
- An as yet unannounced fourth Seraph Bunker is expected to open its doors – The fourth Bunker is said to have a total of 20, instead of 7 levelable ranks. It is also speculated that it could even be a bunker version of the community event from Season 9.
The findings fit together plausibly and are connected by the mysterious Rasputin as a common thread.
The Guardians want more secrets in Destiny 2
Why isn’t everything on the roadmap? Destiny 2 wants to become more mysterious again and surprise the Guardians. This could at least explain the secrecy and gaps in the roadmap.
In Season 9, many players were disappointed by the finale and the rewards of the massive community puzzle. But not because the content was bad, but because they were known in advance while the Guardians expected another surprise. For many, Destiny is most exciting or strongest when there is something to explore or discover.
The mystery and joy in solving a secret have thrilled players since Destiny 1. There are many examples:
- The previously unknown feeling in shooters of exploring a raid
- The extremely difficult missions that suddenly appeared and came with powerful exotics as rewards
Bungie also commented on this in the context of the discussion about the missed potential of Season 9, stating that they cannot unleash a completely empty roadmap on the Guardians. Since this roadmap is meant to help players in their purchasing decisions.
