With Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the ice moon Europa has been freshly introduced into the game. Here, many secrets await the Guardians. In keeping with the arctic theme, 9 penguins are hidden on Europa.
But these cute toys don’t just look adorable – if you collect them, some rewards are waiting for you. With this, Destiny 2 continues the tradition of hiding tier figures in DLC locations – in the Dreaming City there are cats, on the Moon rabbits.
We show you all the locations of the penguins and where you need to take them in this article with video.
Here is your reward: Especially for triumph hunters and lore lovers, it’s worth searching for the hidden penguins.
If you place the penguins after finding them at specific locations, there are secret triumphs and a new lore book waiting for you. Once you have found all 9 penguins, there are still a few extras awaiting you.
In the Triumphs tab, select “Europa” and then the right tab “Secrets.” Here you will also find out the sad story behind the cute toys.
Find all 9 penguin souvenirs on Europa in Destiny 2: Beyond Light
In total, the toy penguins are hidden all over the DLC location Europa. Once you find one, you just need to approach it and pick it up.
Note: Currently, only one penguin has been discovered. We will update this article accordingly as more are found. It is likely that another will be added each week.
1. Penguin: Cadmus Ridge in a cave
Start from the spawn in the area “Charon’s Crossing” and head left into the area “Cadmus Ridge.” Upon arrival, keep hard right and jump up at the first glacier wall on the right. In a small cave, the first penguin souvenir awaits (the region chest is also hidden here).
It is possible that the cave is inhabited by a Wyvern, which is also at a very high level. In this case, you can only pick up the penguin once the mini-boss has been defeated – so be prepared.

2. Penguin: Fountain of Eternity next to a passage
Head to the eastern area “Asterion Abyss” on Europa. From here you can access the “Nexus.” Instead of going right as in the strike, follow the right path in the starting area of the ice cave.
Ignore all Vex and push deeper into the cave until you reach the “Fountain of Eternity” area. Keep moving forward until you later reach a passage that glows yellow and slopes downwards. To the left of this passage is the 2nd penguin behind a barrier that you can manually dissolve.

3. Penguin: Eventide Ruins at the entrance to the sector “Bunker E15”
Head north to Europa in the area “Eventide Ruins.” Here you will find the 3rd penguin very close to the entrance of the lost sector “Bunker E15.” Before entering the sector, look on the right beside a staircase.
But before you set off, you need to prepare. The penguin is hidden behind ice blocks – you can break them with a so-called Scorch Cannon from the Fallen.
You can get the weapon in this area from, for example, stronger Fallen Captains. One can be found directly behind the elevator that takes you to the area “RIIS Reborn Access.”

4. Penguin: In the laboratories of “Bray Exo Science”
Make your way to the western area “Cadmus Ridge” on Europa. From here, head to the underground facility “Bray Exo Science.” In the large entrance hall, turn left at the end and push deeper into the lab complex.
Follow the path through several rooms until you arrive in a lab where a frozen robot arm with a measuring device hangs from the ceiling. Directly to the right of it, you will see the fourth penguin.
As you approach the penguin, Fallen will appear and a barrier will appear. Deal with the nuisances and secure the cute toy.

5. Penguin: Asterion Abyss on a Mountain
The collectible is waiting in the east of Europa, in the area “Asterion Abyss.” If you come from the fast travel point in the south, the penguin is to your left in a rock face. Just below the Lost Sector “Hidden Void,” you will see the ice-covered rock face.
You can spot the penguin from afar through your sights. Usually, two Goblins with yellow health bars are also on the rock ledge above.
The easiest way to get up there is to approach from the right over the Vex ruins. You will find a passage there and stairs in the rock, just a few meters below your target. Then jump to the 5th penguin and enjoy the view a bit.

6. Penguin: Near an enemy in RIIS Reborn Access
Your target is the far north of Europa in the area “RIIS Reborn Access.” You reach this via the northwestern “Eventide Ruins” with the elevator you know from the story and the Empire hunts.
Follow the large, but fairly linear Fallen stronghold until a fork. You are on the right track when you reach the room that has a stairway on the top left and a passage on the bottom right.
Near the right passage, you will find an enemy who does not usually stay here: a Fallen Marauder. Deal with the nuisance – he will then drop the 6th penguin that you can collect.

7. Penguin: Destroy 4 Oracles in the Nexus
To save the poor penguin number 7, you need to head to the “Nexus” area on Europa. You can reach this from the eastern “Asterion Abyss.” Before you set off, make sure to bring a sniper rifle or a scout rifle.
As soon as you arrive in the Nexus, you will see a huge chasm before you. From here, you can turn left or right – but you don’t have to. Your goal is to destroy 4 Oracles in the entrance area.
You need to hit the Oracles in a specific order. Only after the previous one is destroyed, will the next one appear.
- Oracle 1 is located top left above the massive Vex structure.
- The 2nd Oracle appears right below the first platform towards the “Fountain of Eternity.”
- Oracle 3 is located again above the Vex structure from the Nexus entrance – this time on the right side.
- The final and 4th Oracle is located before you on a ledge in the chasm – look a bit right towards Oracle 2. After destroying the object, the 7th penguin will appear right there.

8. Penguin: In the Kell Rise after a fight with a Stasis sniper
You have a long walk ahead, ideally pack a mobility exotic. Your journey starts in the northern area “Eventide Ruins.” From here, take the elevator into the Fallen stronghold “RIIS Reborn Access.”
Cross the area until you reach the room with the fork you already know from the 6th penguin. Take the right path and the next lift upwards along with the teleporter there.
Directly at the first fork after that, go right, and you are in the target area “Kell Rise.”
Follow the linear path further until you see a Fallen Captain on the right: Drake, the Stasis sniper. Take down the slightly tougher foe. Behind the box nearby with the white symbol, you will finally find the 8th penguin.

9. Penguin: Carrying a charge in the Eternity Lab
The last penguin is hidden deep in the “Bray Exo Science.” Enter the lab complex in the west of Europa from “Cadmus Ridge.” You exit the large entrance hall of the underground lab through the rear left exit.
Follow the path further and always keep left. Shortly after the location of the 4th penguin, you will leave the area and arrive in the “Eternity” area.
Here you will push further in until you come to a larger room that has a slightly overlooked staircase on the left and a Servitor. Here you will find a special enemy: “Dracon, Charge Courier.” Defeat the enemy and pick up the orb left behind, which is the charge.
As long as you carry the orb, you cannot close (but you can strike). You now have to follow the path further and master a few jumps. Just before the shaft to the original boss fight in the area, you will find a device to which you can slam the charge. Once that’s done, the 9th and final penguin will appear here.

Where to take the collected penguins on Europa?
This is your goal: Once you have picked up a penguin, you need to bring it to the area “Charon’s Crossing.” To the right of Variks entrance, you will find another round green door marked with a “7.” Inside there, you place the souvenir on the crates and tables.
