Destiny 2 brings Guardians many new opportunities to build creative builds in the coming months. A particular mod in Season 16 has stood out, which is quite powerful. We will show you what it can do.
Which mod is meant? This refers to the mod “Transience River”. With it, you will receive volatile projectiles after collecting a Void elemental source. You can socket the mod in any armor piece, consuming only two energy points.
However, it does not explain what volatile projectiles do and whether it is worth using them. We will explain what the artifact upgrade can do and with which weapons you will benefit the most.

What can the seasonal mod do? If you have leveled up your new artifact well, you can find the modification in the fifth column in the third slot. With the equipped upgrade and a Void elemental source, you can “infect” enemies with Void, provided you fight with a weapon that has the “Void” element.
The function is exactly the same as that of the Void fragment “Echo of Suppression” in the new Void Super. If you shoot enemies, they will be consumed by Void and then just need to be killed. Afterward, the enemies explode in a large radius, taking other enemies around them to death.
You can extend the buff “volatile projectiles” by constantly picking up a new Void source alongside. Since each class has its ability cooldowns, the mod is very beneficial for quickly and effectively thinning out many enemy masses. Make sure you also have a modification equipped that spawns elemental sources on grenade or weapon kills.
Which weapons work well with the mod? Especially automatic rifles or SMGs equipped with perks like “Surplus” or any suitable ammunition regeneration solution. Here are some examples of suitable weapons:
- Hunger – old Gambit automatic rifle with a large magazine
- Arrowhead Brake – Tactical Mag – Surplus – Demolisher
- Funnelweb – new Void Veist SMG
- Fluted Barrel – Enhanced Rounds – Surplus – Rampage
Who has access to the mod? Only owners of the season pass have access to the seasonal artifact. Therefore, you need to purchase the season pass to secure the mod. Use it while it is still available. After Season 16, a new artifact will come, and then the mod “Transience River” will no longer be available.
