The Pike is a long weapon that allows you to attack from a distance. However, you must aim carefully, as the Pike has a tip that is dangerous, but hits must be precise.
With the Pike, you can not only thrust but also strike. These two types of attacks can be combined into combo attacks to start a series of attacks that your enemies can hardly withstand.
More hits equal more damage
And these series are important, as with every hit you land without being interrupted by a counterattack, the attack with the War Pike strengthens, resulting in more damage. However, this does not mean that you should become careless. Caution and bravery must always be well balanced.
The War Pike can do even more. Because it is also a ranged weapon. You fire an energy beam from it when you aim at your enemy. However, you must first accumulate shots by storing energy. You then unleash this through the ranged attack and must accumulate energy again afterward.
Weapons with different damage types
The War Pike will be introduced next month with the “Sharpen your Skills” update in the currently ongoing alpha of the action RPG Dauntless. This update will also bring different damage types. This includes damage from blunt weapons like a hammer, damage from stabbing weapons like the War Pike, and damage from cutting weapons like swords. Tactics will then play a bigger role, as the monsters react differently to the various types of attacks, and you will need to weigh carefully which weapon to use in combat.
Additionally, the upcoming update will show how much damage you inflict on the enemies, as this will be displayed as numbers during an attack. You will also be able to see which damage type you are inflicting. An exact release date for the “Sharpen your Skills” update will be announced soon.
