In Cyberpunk 2077 you can literally make the walls shake. Many areas of the game are completely destructible. Additionally, there will be the well-known “color code” for items, which makes their quality instantly recognizable.
At E3 2018, some journalists had the opportunity to get hands-on with Cyberpunk 2077 and had in-depth discussions with the developers. This revealed many details and exciting insights. It was disclosed that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature destructible environments and the well-known color schemes for items.
Destruction of the environment. At E3, a representative from CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk features a “full destruction system”. This makes sense, as in Cyberpunk, weapons can fire through walls. Whether whole buildings are destructible remains to be seen. At least players should be able to create chaos with the interior design if they wish. It remains to be seen whether the system also allows for destroying rooms and seeking cover behind debris.
Chaos within limits: Elsewhere, it was stated that one can also create chaos in Cyberpunk, such as running over citizens with cars (like in GTA). However, this is only possible “to a limited extent”, as those who create too much chaos will soon become the talk of the town and face the wrath of the megacorps.
Cyberpunk 2077 has the well-known color code for items
Color coding for loot. Anyone who has played any RPG in the last 12 years will likely be familiar with the color system. Depending on the color of the text, an item is particularly rare and thus particularly powerful. White usually stands for “common”, while purple stands for “epic” and orange for “legendary”. However, it has not yet been revealed whether the rarity of items in Cyberpunk depends on randomness or is strictly predefined.
