The survival MMO Conan Exiles has received a new update that helps you to control your thralls better. You can now even track them across the map and summon them back from anywhere.
Here you will find the system: With update 39 from March 10, 2020, the “Followers Management” feature arrived in Conan Exiles. This adds a new menu that allows you to manage your thralls.
You can find the new features in the player menu under “Thralls” (a strange word for slaves whose will has been broken), right next to information about the clan, the map, and the journey.
How to use it: From the menu, you can now interact with your thralls in various ways. Selecting the desired thrall gives you the following options:
- Stats – shows the attributes, perks, and other characteristics of the thrall
- Rescue – recalls the thrall. They lose all equipped gear in the process. Can only be used once every 10 minutes
- Release – frees the thrall from your service
With the eye on the right in the menu, you can also display the position of the thrall on the map. This way, you always know where they are if they get lost.
Command dozens of thralls with a click
How do I get thralls in the first place? To get thralls that you can command using the new system, you first need to capture and break them. We have described in detail how to acquire thralls in this guide.
The thralls differ between fighters (archers and melee fighters) and artisans/entertainers. You can only command the fighters.
Alternatively, you can also practice necromancy. With the talent “Shaman” you can summon various skeletal beings that can also receive commands.

The number of thralls you can own depends on the server. On a private server or in free play, you can have as many thralls as you want. However, most servers where many players play limit the number to about 50-60 thralls per clan to keep server load manageable.
And how do I use them? You can place the fighters like items in the world and then give them the desired gear.
By default, they will guard an area once you place them. You can also command them to follow you. Then they will assist you in battle, carry your stuff, and level up. So far, they also tended to get lost – that should not happen anymore.
