Black Desert Online starts the War of Roses this year. Up to 600 players can participate in this gigantic battle, fighting in teams of 300. Each team has a commander who takes on great responsibility for their team.
What kind of PvP mode is this?
- The PvP mode includes the areas of Kamasilvia and Odyllita, “the Land of Darkness and Ancient Secrets”
- The area is so vast that the development team recommends using horses for transportation
- Players start in their castle and must kill the opposing castle’s supreme commander NPC
- There are 20 shrines guarded by an NPC. They serve as respawn points when captured. Several shrines provide buffs for the entire faction.
The winner of the battle receives the Crown of Roses. Both guilds and alliances can participate in the war. A faction is represented by a leading guild, where one player is elected as commander and three others as advisors.

What can the commander do? The 299 players of a faction are led by a commander. He is the only player who can see the location of all players in his faction. The other players only see their own position on a tactical map.
The commander has several abilities that he can use in war:
- He can give factions and players quests to attack, explore, or defend
- The commander has a logistics talent that allows him to reveal vision for everyone, obstruct enemy vision, or teleport units.
Since the responsibility is too great for one person, he can delegate tasks to up to three advisors. They may, for instance, command which legions will participate in the naval battles to secure the ports of the castles.
How do I participate? First of all, interested players need to apply before a war. Any guild can apply as a leading guild if it has reached rank 4 or 5 in the siege war or has won a conquest war. Up to 100 players can apply in this category.
Additionally, individual applicants can join if they possess an item level of 680. Up to 200 applicants are accepted here.
If you are not one of the lucky ones chosen for participation, you can still be on the waiting list. Reservists can still be added if the cap of 300 players is not reached.
In Korea, the first players were able to start on October 15, 2023. In Europe, it will be on February 4: On this day, the battle is scheduled to take place from 5 PM to 7 PM Central European Time. Registration starts on January 24, 2024.
