In the MMORPG Lineage 2, players have staged a strike. This is intended to prompt NCSoft to finally take action against the game’s problems.
What is happening in Lineage 2? Players of the MMORPG are angry and have not only started a petition but have even conducted a strike in the game, demanding that publisher NCSoft takes action. The MMORPG is plagued by several issues that are now affecting the player population. The servers are becoming emptier and emptier.
Lineage 2 has problems
What are the problems? In the official forum, players have listed what NCSoft urgently needs to address. The points include:
- Players are only selling items from the store or from events, which significantly impacts the economy. The drop rate of items should be decreased to encourage more trading.
- Farming items in certain dungeons has become nearly impossible due to overly powerful monsters.
- Player killers (PKs) are too powerful and spoil the fun for others.
- Server events have turned into pay-to-win events due to loot boxes.
- Raid bosses are bugged, making it unenjoyable to fight against them.
What have players done so far? A petition was started in the official forum. As many Lineage 2 fans as possible are expected to participate, so that NCSoft finally takes action.
In addition, a strike took place directly in the MMORPG. Players gathered and all wrote simultaneously, “Fix the Server!” This gathering of players should not have escaped the developers’ notice.
The PC MMORPG must not die!
What do players demand? The problems that the now free-to-play Lineage 2 suffers from are already causing more and more players to leave. Something must happen quickly before a situation arises in which NCSoft terminates the further operation of the MMORPG due to too few players.
Why is this so important to players? NCSoft has previously shut down MMORPGs that were not performing well, a prime example being: Wildstar. However, City of Heroes also had to close its doors, much to the disappointment of its fans.
NCSoft has recently focused heavily on mobile games. Among the new titles are many mobile games, such as:
- Aion 2
- Blade & Soul 2
- Blade & Soul M
- Blade & Soul S
- Lineage 2 M
Lineage 2 is one of the few remaining PC MMORPGs from the company and is now apparently being treated very poorly. However, the community is keen that MMORPGs can still be played on PCs in the future. That is why fans are fighting so hard for the issues of the online game to be resolved and for the game to continue to run successfully for a long time.
