A new action RPG on Steam combines an open fantasy world of Skyrim with ARPG elements from Diablo 4. For fans of the franchises, Svarog’s Dream could therefore be an interesting alternative with some curious features.
What kind of game is this? The talk is about the action RPG Svarog’s Dream, which was released on 04.12. on Steam and is set in an open world. It was developed and published by VI Game Forge.
In Svarog’s Dream, you play a soul from the underworld who is sent back to the land of the living and must find out who they are. However, the journey of self-discovery comes with unknown dangers, as the open world is plagued by wild beasts and real gods. Whether you fight them or befriend them is entirely up to you.
In the action RPG on Steam, permadeath is a marked feature: if the character dies, they are lost forever. As an additional element of curiosity, a divine being mocks players after their death, which gives the game a unique, challenging twist.

Fight enemies – or ally with them?
Why does it remind of Diablo 4 and Skyrim? The combat system of Svarog’s Dream resembles Diablo due to its isometric view and integrates high-fantasy elements that one is accustomed to from Skyrim. The action RPG also allows players to customize their play style through a skill tree. Here, players invest points in various spells.
Also, crafting remedies and enhancing equipment – which is a known mechanic in both Diablo and Skyrim – is said to play an important role according to the developer (via Steam). Players will even be able to buy houses and take out loans – with the risk of having to deal with debt collectors and bounty hunters.
In Svarog’s Dream, there is also the possibility of forming alliances with various creatures, unlike in Diablo 4. There, some players still wonder, why they can’t form an alliance with Lilith.
However, players in Svarog’s Dream must weigh which of these allies they can trust and what consequences their decisions may have. This aspect is reminiscent of Skyrim and gives the game a certain dynamic.

Among the many positive reviews, there are also players who do not seem to be enthusiastic about Svarog’s Dream. Here, primarily the user interface is criticized, as well as the fact that the game still lacks some refinements.
