The developers of the sandbox MMORPG Albion Online will introduce a major change: monsters that will no longer just lurk in specific locations but will also roam the game world.
This is something we know from MMORPGs: monsters usually lurk in specific places waiting for players to attack them. This allows players to plan their tactics and defeat the hordes. This principle will soon be turned on its head in Albion Online. Monsters will then also roam the game world, making exploration missions even more dangerous.

Encounter roaming monsters in the game world
With the Lancelot update, the developers will introduce the following changes:
- Scouts, minions, and elite fighters will roam the open world
- These wandering mobs give more rewards, sometimes huge amounts of fame and silver as loot
- Frequency and difficulty of wandering mobs vary from simple scouts to powerful bosses
- More encounters in the game world
- More activities in the game world

Luxury goods fuel economy and PvP
Additionally, the developers will also introduce luxury goods into the game with the upcoming update. These are relics from the 18 different phases of antiquity of Albion, which are highly sought after by collectors in cities. Many of these luxury goods can be found with mobs regardless of their location. Luxury goods impact the economy of the MMO and also heat up the PvP, as the items are very rare and everyone wants them.
More details about the Lancelot update of the MMORPG Albion Online will be revealed by the developers in the coming weeks. The update is planned for release in March.
Just recently, the developers of Albion Online announced that they had to lay off many employees.
