In the new vampire RPG Blood of Dawnwalker on Steam, everything revolves around the story. But when your thirst for blood rises, you must be careful, as your next victim could be an important quest giver.
What kind of game is this? The new vampire RPG Blood of Dawnwalker focuses on a strong narrative and a vivid story that is supposed to unfold as a “narrative sandbox experience.” Players take on the role of Coen, a “Dawnwalker,” who must navigate plagues and conflicts in 14th century Europe.
Behind the RPG are the developers from Rebel Wolves, some of whom are former developers of Witcher 3. This is also evident in the game’s design.

What sets the game apart? Blood of Dawnwalker aims to be the exact opposite of a linear adventure. Developer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz emphasized in an interview with Xbox Wire that the developers provide many different endings, which can easily be missed.
For example, you may be able to join a human rebellion and help them achieve victory. However, it can also happen that you never speak to the NPC for the rebellion and the story takes a completely different turn.
We wanted to give players as much control over the story as possible, a clear goal, but many ways to achieve it […] You can ally with the human rebellion or finish the game without ever encountering them

Every action is meant to influence the game that revolves around your character. For example, when that blood thirst hits again. In an emergency, it may just be the next NPC or companion that has to suffer, whether you want it or not.
Once the companions have become lunch, they will not simply continue with the story. NPCs do not appreciate such actions, and depending on who it affects, whole stories and plot threads can unfold differently.
This creates a unique playthrough for each player, influenced by their actions and decisions.
Blood of Dawnwalker is set to be released in 2026 on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, utilizing Unreal Engine 5, which will implement important day and night transitions.
