In a new MMO on Steam you have to face the struggle for survival in a post-apocalyptic world. However, this world is almost completely flooded, making this struggle not exactly easier for you.
What kind of game is this? The new MMO “Age of Water” is set to launch on Steam in the first quarter of 2024 and lures players with a post-apocalyptic, open world and exciting survival battles.
After the world became almost completely flooded, the few survivors of humanity are trying to adapt to this new situation. Floating settlements have emerged on the water, individual people are trying to survive on ships, and pirates are making their lives harder.
This new world resembles a large junkyard, as the individual settlements, traders, and hermits have cobbled together their new homes from the scrap they were able to find.
The trailer for the Steam announcement already gives you a first impression of the gameplay:
In the summer of 2022, Age of Water entered beta, which we reported on for you.
What can you expect in Age of Water? The trailer already shows you some features that will define the gameplay of Age of Water without going into too much detail.
It becomes clear that you are in constant battle with other survivors. The trailer shows many fights and battles on the water or in some of the floating cities.
You should always keep your own ship battle-ready and equip it with enough weapons if you don’t want to end up being the plundered. Because in Age of Water, you can earn your money as a smuggler. However, someone else might have their eyes on exactly the goods you are supposed to smuggle.
The trailer also shows that you need to trade with various merchants to stock up on your resources. These are not only found in the larger cities but also float with their own little shops on the water.
In addition to fighting, smuggling, and trading, you can salvage larger artifacts and crates from the ocean. As seen in the trailer, there are still some good treasures, like the Statue of Liberty, somewhere underwater.
You can also find your resources, such as scrap for your base, in this way.
