Still this year, Sensei! I Like You So Much! is set to release on Steam. It is a fangirl simulation where you can live out your love for fan fiction.
What kind of game is this? Sensei! I Like You So Much! is likely the dream come true for all those who have always wanted to step into the role of a fangirl. The developer team from LaoO Studio describes the title as a “fangirl simulation”.
- We play an author of fan fiction. These are stories inspired by well-known animes, video games, comics, or other franchises, but written by a fan.
- There are several websites that collect such fan stories. Among the most well-known are, for example, FanFiction or Wattpad.
- In the game, you must convince other fans of your story. To do this, you visit comic cons to present your stories.
- The game has a day and night rhythm: during the day, you gather inspirations, at night you write.
With your earned money, you can either decorate your own room or your Ita bag. These are trend bags from Japan, where the front is transparent. You can attach pins, keychains, or patches to show which franchises you are a fan of.

What freedoms are there? Depending on the decisions you make in the game, you will go through a different campaign and steer towards different endings. There are several fan fiction genres that can be written into their own story. These include, for example, celebrity, medieval, or fantasy.
During the day, we gather inspirations in different locations. From these snippets, we can then piece together our own story. It does not seem like we are really able to write our own story. Instead, we click with the mouse on the screen and only determine in advance which components the story structure consists of.
So if you are actually interested in writing real fan fiction, this title could be a good entry point. However, it is not possible to create completely original stories, which limits your imagination.
You can even create a custom character for the story. They behave differently depending on the story run and wander around the desktop. There are also four different characters in the game that we can get to know better. These include:
- Cordelia, a classmate
- Oralie, the organizer of the events
- Blanche, an influential author
- Nora, an aggressive anti-fangirl
However, it is not entirely clear from the description on Steam whether we can also date the girls. We may have to wait for the developer to reveal new information about the game or for the title to be released. A release date is set for 2024.
