With EVE Online, the studio CCP Games has developed a successful space MMORPG. Now they want to explore other genres, while still remaining true to space and the online aspect. With EVE Frontier, they aim to release a free survival MMO. A closed alpha will start soon, where you can participate if you invest.
What is EVE Frontier? EVE Frontier is set to become a new online survival MMO that takes place in the same universe as EVE Online. The developers are focusing on a lot of freedom and sandbox mechanics. The game is supposed to have the following systems:
- open servers
- open economy
- open ecosystem
- configurable and programmable components, currencies, and features
In the dark space, you will have to try to survive while exploring the vastness and dangers of the universe. Additionally, EVE Frontier is supposed to provide players with many opportunities to permanently change the world on the servers through blockchain technology. The game is set to be free-to-play, but if you want to start playing earlier, you can get the Founder Access.

What is the Founder Access? CCP Games has now announced the Founder Access. It gives you the opportunity to participate in the upcoming closed alpha, which starts on December 10. The server is supposed to be permanently active, so you won’t have to adjust to any specific time. Access is meant to be permanent.
During the closed alpha, Founder Access owners can also provide feedback, according to CCP Games. New content and features are supposed to be continuously added.
The Founder Access Packs
offer not only alpha access but also other content:
- name reservation
- cosmetics
- Discord roles
- access to developer streams
The pack also includes a premium subscription time that can be redeemed when the game fully launches as a free-to-play game. On the official website, you can check out the different versions of the Founder Access. There are 3 packages ranging between 39.99 USD and 99.99 USD, and currently, you have a 10 USD discount on each package.
When exactly the full version of EVE Frontier is supposed to launch is still unknown. However, Frontier is not the only upcoming project from the studio. With EVE Vanguard, they also want to create a shooter MMO in the style of Destiny.
