A new game on Steam takes you into a mysterious fairy tale world. It was developed by a group of students and looks quite good.
What game are we talking about? Alice Through the Fey Realm is a new narrative adventure on Steam that you can play for free on the platform. The game was developed by a group of 20 students in their third year at Breda University of Applied Sciences.
Over 32 weeks, they worked together on this project and completed it earlier this month with a final update. What they created during this time can already be seen in the following trailer:
What can you expect? It should be noted in advance that Alice Through the Fey Realm is not a game with super many hours of gameplay. According to some older reviews, you can comfortably finish the game in just over an hour. Since then, there have been updates from the developers, but we do not know how much game time has ultimately been added through new content.

You take on the role of Alice, who lands in a kind of fairy tale world through a portal. More specifically, she ends up in the “Fey Realm”, a realm full of elves, fairies, unicorns, and other mythical creatures. Your goal is to find the key to your way home.
A dice system reminiscent of Yahtzee
In doing so, you interact with many different inhabitants of the realm, explore the new environment, collect important items, and face various tasks and challenges.
As the trailer already shows, dice decide your fate. You must pass skill checks with the dice to master a task. At first glance, the whole system resembles Yahtzee a bit. You have 5 dice that you need to roll in order to meet a specific requirement.
However, you also have the option to roll again and decide beforehand which dice you want to secure and which you want to roll again. Additionally, it seems you can influence your “dice luck” with different equipment.
