The next year could be a great year for fans of Shonen anime. Two popular animes are set to start a new arc, and two others are undergoing a reboot.
Which animes are continuing?
- The final arc of Demon Slayer will not be released as a series, but as a film trilogy. You will have to go to the cinema or wait for the later release on streaming platforms to watch the ending. Although there is no official release date yet, the last films and seasons were released annually. Therefore, we assume that the first film of the trilogy will premiere in 2025.
- Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen had to go without a new season this year. This is expected to change in 2025, as according to El Comercio, the third season is set to start next year. We could not pinpoint the original report upon closer investigation, but in any case, a release in 2025 seems likely.
The grand finale of Demon Slayer will be shown in theaters. The film trilogy will cover the last two arcs, which are summarized under the Final Battle Arc. In Jujutsu Kaisen, the next arc is Itadori’s Extermination Arc. Fans will not be given a break to recover from the events of the Shibuya Incident arcs.
