Players of Call of Duty: Warzone repeatedly report eerie encounters. Aimbot cheaters, God mode hackers, and whatnot disturb regular players. Check out what this looks like and what you can do.
How do players cheat in the Warzone? There are many types of cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone, but three cheats are the most prominent:
- God mode – The hacker becomes immortal
- Aim bot – The hack assists in aiming to automatically hit all opponents
- Wall glitch – Players exploit weaknesses in the level structure to attack opponents from walls
God mode and aim bot are indeed real hacks. Through sneaky tools, cheaters gain a ruthless advantage. You cannot eliminate these players, for example, because they take no damage or cheaters show in the kill cam an inhuman level of accuracy.
The “wall glitch” seems almost harmless but is equally unfair. There are apparently a few weaknesses in the level structure where glitchers can hide outside the visible map and fire bullets from walls.
Cheaters easily take out entire teams
What does this look like? A new video once again shows how unfair and brazen cheaters act. “RaviVora” shared a clip of his team on reddit, which was just about to win. Only one opponent was left, and the squad was rightly confident of victory. But then things got ugly:
The four-person squad just couldn’t take down the solo player. The team tried everything: constant fire, grenades, rocket launchers, melee attacks – nothing helped against the damned cheater. And instead of a strong victory, they only achieved a disappointing second place. That is really not nice to see.
What can I do about it? If you notice a cheater in the Warzone, try to flee. Aimbot cheaters and wall glitchers could still somehow be dealt with, but in close combat, you rarely have a chance here.
However, against a god mode cheater, you virtually have no chance to take him down. Even if you can flee, you will see the unfair spinner again at the endgame.
If you encounter a cheater, report the player. Infinity Ward has already banned 70,000 cheaters and promises to continue working on the problem.
Report players who cheat and hack whenever possible!
How do I report players? This cannot be done directly in the match, but once you are back in the lobby, you can report the cheater – you just have to remember his nickname.
In your social menu, where you usually organize your squad and regiments, you have the “Recent Players” tab on the far right. Here you can see the last 200 players you played with in a match. Click on the player and in the pop-up menu, you will find “Report Player”.
Is there anything else I can do? Technically speaking, it is much more difficult to hack on consoles than on PC, as it is much easier to access the game’s data here. Some players therefore suggest to disable crossplay to protect themselves from hackers.
But especially the wall glitchers can be found on all platforms and have long been a problem in regular multiplayer of Modern Warfare.
The developers at Infinity Ward repeatedly emphasize that they continue to work on effective measures against cheaters. Players have long demanded, for example, a more direct way to report cheaters. Gameplay scenes like the ones in the video above hopefully belong to the past soon.
