In Diablo 4 it is all about the hunt for the next powerful equipment piece. If you play with the standard settings, you cannot see how powerful your pieces actually are.
What are these settings? In the options under the “Gameplay” tab, you will find the following settings:
- Advanced tooltip comparison
- Advanced tooltip information
Enable both options to get significantly more information about your equipment pieces.
What do the values mean? This unlocks important displays on the info panels of your equipment.
With the tooltip comparison, you get shown every time which values / affixes you lose or gain when you change your equipment piece. The change of a value is also visible.
The tooltip information is even more powerful. It shows you the range that the values of an equipment piece can have. Only then can you see if your piece has good values compared to the maximum value.
Additionally, there is information on whether a value is added (+) or if the values have multiplicative (x) effects.

The tooltip settings allow for a deeper insight into your own values and are essential for understanding which equipment pieces are truly strong. You need to see whether you are at the minimum of a value or if the piece even has a maximum value that cannot be better.
During the leveling process, this is not as important, but the further you progress in the game, the more you should know about your equipment and the possible values.
