In December, several things will be new – and better in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 does not support HDR on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. This was announced in the weeks leading up to the release, but with the promise that this feature would be added in the future.
HDR stands for “High Dynamic Range” and ensures that colors are more vibrant and that more details can be seen on HDR-capable screens. In short: The image gets better.
As Bungie now announces, the “new consoles” will soon receive HDR:
- Destiny 2 aims to take advantage of the power of PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. The game will receive an update on December 5, along with “Curse of Osiris,” which enables HDR on these two consoles.
- Additionally, adaptive 4K will be available on PS4 Pro and 4K on Xbox One X.
- If you own one of these two new consoles, the investment should be worth it, according to Bungie. However, this means: No HDR on the standard PS4 and Xbox One.

The reset times are changing
Curse of Osiris brings not only numerous new content and HDR but also changes to the reset times. Until now, most “rituals” in Destiny 2, like the weekly reset, occurred at 11 AM (Summer Time) or 10 AM (Winter Time). These times will no longer be the case.
From now on, these events will consistently occur at 7 PM (Summer Time) or 6 PM (Winter Time). These are the times when Trials started or when Iron Banner happened in Destiny 1.
Bungie explains this decision as follows: In Destiny 1, weekly resets often did not coincide with new content releases, preventing Guardians from earning new rewards that week if they played the reset activities before the content was released. Therefore, Bungie sometimes took countermeasures and disabled certain playlists for a few hours.
- Therefore: Starting December 5, all resets will occur at 6 PM.
No matter when something new happens in Destiny 2 – we will report on it at Mein-MMO.de.
