The German MMORPG Albion Online will soon receive the major Merlyn update, which enables faction wars. The developers at Sandbox Interactive have now introduced this feature in more detail: This is how the wars between individual factions work.
What does the update bring? Through faction wars, you can participate in a conflict that takes place in Albion Online between rival factions on the Royal Continent. The update thus introduces open PvP for guilds, non-guild players, and solo players on the Royal Continent.
There is war in Albion Online! This is how you join
This is how a faction war unfolds: To participate in a faction war, you must follow several steps:
- Register with the faction general in one of the five faction cities.
- Once you belong to a faction, you can no longer enter the capitals of other factions or Caerleon.
- You can now freely attack members of the rival cities. You will receive support from players of your faction.
- By joining a faction, you will also complete trade missions for it, for which there will be more information soon.
- It is possible to leave a faction again.
- You collect faction points during the wars by capturing outposts, by gathering/fishing, and through PvE.
Of course, there are also rewards. When you participate in a faction war, the faction merchants will offer you rewards:
- City Heart Fragments: You use these shards when processing resources to reduce the amount of required raw materials.
- Faction Capes: These capes enhance your builds.
- Faction Mounts: You receive a young creature that you can develop into a unique mount.
