We now know that the artifact weapons in WoW: Battle for Azeroth will be disappearing. However, the skins will remain available to us. Blizzard has some good news for skin collectors.
The “Mythic +15” skins will actually be available in BfA: Those who have not yet completed a “Mythic +15” dungeon in Legion can retroactively receive the achievement and therefore the artifact appearance!
The artifact weapons constituted a large part of the features of WoW: Legion. In Battle for Azeroth, players unfortunately cannot keep the artifact weapons. At least the skins should still remain available.
The skin requires dungeon expertise: The skins come in different variations, which are unlocked through various requirements. One of them was to successfully complete a Mythic+ dungeon at least at level 15.
After Blizzard initially intended to make this skin temporary, the company decided differently after testing on the beta server. After completing the basic questline “Balance of Power”, you can unlock the skin in Battle for Azeroth.
The “Keystone Master” is now permanent: The underlying achievement “Keystone Master” has been made permanent by Blizzard for this occasion. It can also be obtained beyond WoW: Legion.
If you want to unlock the skin retroactively, you only need to complete a dungeon in Battle for Azeroth at Mythic+15 level or higher.
Only the challenge skins are temporary: The challenge skins are particularly difficult to obtain. You can earn this appearance in the Mage Tower at the Broken Shore through a tough trial.
These skins are expected to remain exclusive to Legion for now. So if you want the challenge skins, you have until August 13 to do so.
