The developers of World of Warcraft have given Azshara a cool ability in the next raid. Those who use the wrong emotes will be executed.
Currently, the upcoming Patch 8.2 Azshara’s Rise is being tested on the PTR of World of Warcraft. In the meantime, the developers have progressed to testing the raid bosses, so many players can already try out bosses from Azshara’s Eternal Palace. Now, players have discovered a little “Easter egg” mechanic that makes quick work of anyone who behaves improperly.
Where does this happen? In the new raid, there is an area called “Queen’s Court” – the Queen’s court. Here Azshara states that she is not at all angry that the heroes are attacking all her servants and guards. Instead, she feels wonderfully entertained and wishes the players to keep going. However, the heroes are expected to adhere to etiquette. If they do not do so, they will be killed instantly.

Which emotes are forbidden? Basically, this only means that players are not allowed to use certain emotes. These are:
- /spit
- /rude
Those who do not adhere to these simple rules will literally be struck by lightning. The corresponding description of the spell even reveals Azshara’s arrogance. It states:
Queen’s outrage: Queen Azshara is outraged by your behavior in her royal court, which is why she spontaneously kills you, you insolent mortal.
Azshara had instant-kills before: That Azshara simply executes annoying players is not a completely new mechanic. In an instance in the Caverns of Time (Well of Eternity), players could fight against Azshara and her servants. Azshara herself just watched there and only occasionally cast a spell that needed to be interrupted. If players missed that, they would all be put under mind control simultaneously and commit suicide at the behest of Queen Azshara.
That Azshara “plays” with her victims is therefore only fitting for her character and is in line with what we have already experienced from her in the past.
