In The Division 2, players are working on their own workaround for the missing matchmaking in the raid. This is what it looks like. Are you joining in?
Many had different expectations: After the first reports came, numerous fans hoped for a change. But now it’s official. The Division 2 will not offer matchmaking in the raid.
However, many agents had different expectations and were already looking forward to the raid – even without a clan or a fixed group. After all, The Division 2 promised a player search for all in-game activities. Now they have to look for other ways to find players.
How are fans reacting? While some players welcome and support this decision by Massive, many fans are angry and disappointed. Many cannot understand this decision despite the explanations from the developers.
However, after processing the initial shock, the community on Reddit is already working on a solution. In addition to possible approaches and suggestions for Massive, some affected players in the subreddit of The Division 2 have now come up with a kind of workaround. It is intended to help all players without a clan or fixed group, but also for too small squads – and indeed within the game.
This is what the community’s workaround looks like: Players who are looking for a raid team or other players for their own team in-game should go to the heli-pad in the operations base, that is, at the White House. Since the raid NPC, in the form of the pilot, is standing there and the helicopter is intended for the raid anyway, they want to use this location as a gathering place for everyone who wants to join the raid.
If actively looking for players, one should perform the jumping jack emote there. This way, you communicate to the other players that you are still available or still searching.
Since not every agent is on Reddit, this location and this signal should be shared with as many agents as possible outside of Reddit.
Especially at the raid start, it is hoped that one or the other player can still find a raid team even without matchmaking or external means, or that entire random teams can form – and indeed within the game.
