There are a few theories about how Season 3 in Fortnite will play out. So far, it looks like water will be a major theme of the next season. If Fortnite becomes a water-based game, MeinMMO author Eilyn Rapp is not excited at all.
What are the theories about the next theme in Fortnite? There are already a few clues and theories about how Season 3 will play out in Fortnite.
Posters were found on the map showing that there will be a lot of water.
Houses on floating rings, sharks, and Meowscles standing hip-deep in water, all clues pointing to a flooded map in Fortnite.
If we look at the theories about the end of Season 2, this suspicion is reinforced. It is expected that an apocalyptic device will be activated, and this could blow the entire map to pieces.
Fortnite underwater is too exhausting for me
So if the theories are confirmed and the entire map or parts of it are underwater, that would be too exhausting in my opinion. There are a few reasons for this.
Only swimming instead of running?
For getting around or to get to a location faster, I actually find the swimming feature quite good. But what if you have to swim instead of run to reach the next point?
If you are in the water and enemies are lurking at a safe place, you have a clear disadvantage. They can leisurely shoot while you desperately try to find cover.
And if you can swim underwater, will enemies sneak up on you without you noticing? Or do they even hide down there until the match is over?
This doesn’t sound very appealing to me so far, and I can hardly imagine how this is all going to play out.

Fights in the water – how is that going to work?
The other reason I am not convinced by this “underwater map” idea is the fights. Will these take place in the water while looking for a spot that might be on land?
Fights in the water are not that cool, as you can hardly see your opponents when you are swimming in the water yourself. It will be difficult to eliminate other players.
Moreover, it takes me several attempts to build a proper floor in the water. By the time I manage to do that, my opponent has surely already built a whole fortress.
So far, the entire concept of Season 3 does not really convince me, and it would be the first time I am not eagerly waiting for a new season in Fortnite. But so far, these are just theories, and we do not know how this will really play out.
My wishes for the next season remain the same as for the last season, except that there are a few minimal changes if the map really gets flooded. As I know myself, I will definitely check out the new season and hopefully be positively surprised, and not miss a season.
