Path of Exile 2 is currently considered the most difficult new ARPG. A new contender on Steam aims to be even more challenging.
What kind of game is this? Path of Exile 2 is not only popular at the moment, but it is also among the more challenging ARPGs on the market. Some even compare the game to Dark Souls. However, the new Project Pantheon is supposed to be even tougher.
The new title from the developers of Wolcen Studio is fully focused on hardcore aspects. If you make a mistake, you will quickly regret it in the ARPG.

Escape with or without loot
What defines the game? In the game, which calls itself an “extrAction RPG,” you will experience the typical dungeon crawler experience – but with the twist that you need to make it to the exit with your gear and loot.
If you don’t do that, you will lose all your stuff. Even the one you brought with you. The influence of Escape From Tarkov and Dark and Darker is hard to deny. However, what’s interesting is the gameplay, which is likely reminiscent of Path of Exile 2 or Diablo 4.
If you succeed in getting your loot and equipment to the exit, you can trade the gained items with other adventurers. The economy of the ARPG is supposed to be entirely in the hands of the players.

When does Project Pantheon start? The title is currently still in development. However, you will soon be able to try it out in the first free test. This will take place from Saturday, January 25, 2025, to Sunday, January 26, 2025.
Registration for the test is done through playgdr.com. Even though the test is scheduled to take place on Steam, the official Steam page for the game has not yet been released. On the developers’ website, you will need to answer a few questions and provide your email address to register for the test.
A combination of Escape from Tarkov and Path of Exile 2 sounds like one of the most difficult games currently available. After all, Path of Exile 2 thrives on intricate builds that are refined over many gameplay hours. The thought of losing everything in one go is something that many players likely don’t want to imagine.
