Call of Duty: Warzone celebrates the return of Verdansk with an event where you can get a free skin – if you are not plagued by bad luck.
What kind of free skin is this? In Call of Duty: Warzone, since the start of Season 3, there has been an event celebrating the return of Verdansk. You need to open blue safes in random locations in each zone of the map to receive rewards.
These safes can contain various rewards, and with a bit of luck, they may also include the free skin “Pathfinder” for the operator Caine.
Players are unlucky, fearing missing the skin
What is behind the players’ bad luck: Part of the community fears they might miss the skin, as it can only be obtained during the event (ends on April 15), and the drop chances for the skin are quite low.
There are players who have already opened a multitude of safes and still have not received the skin. One player writes on Reddit: “[I have been] at it for 17 hours and have searched over 100 safes, with no luck.”
Other players are also convinced that the skin is very rare:
- One player comments: “I’m starting to wonder if it’s even possible to get [the skin].”
- Another believes: “Officially the hardest and rarest skin to obtain in COD history. Nukes were easier to get than this bullshit.”
- A player wishes it were easier to get the skin: “I go into a round of Plunder, open an average of 5-6 safes per game, leave the match after getting nothing, and repeat the whole thing. Please CoD, make it easier.”
Many players share a similar fate: Those who have bad luck when opening safes and simply cannot get the skin, even though they would like to have it, are dissatisfied. Some players prefer a challenge that requires skill rather than luck.
Other players, however, appreciate the limited availability of the skin because it allows them to have a rare skin that others do not own.
Are there tips for opening the safes? Yes and no. The most important tip is probably: Play normally and don’t focus your matches on opening safes. It will only rob you of enjoyment.
If you want to focus on opening safes, you can weigh:
- In Plunder, you have more opportunities to reach the safes due to respawns. However, other players have the same thought in mind, which makes the safes contested.
- In Battle Royale, you obviously need to avoid being eliminated. For many players, the safes seem rather secondary there and are less contested. It’s more about victory there.
Additionally, it should help to go on a safe hunt as a team since you likely get the contents of a safe even if your teammate opens it. Moreover, a map showing the locations of the safes can help with locating them: CoD Warzone: Find safes on Verdansk and secure event rewards
