Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3
Release: May 2022 | Price (RRP): 249.99 euros | Compatible with: PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS | Focus: Entertainment
The Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3 ranks 3rd for me: Excellent sound, combined with good noise canceling and great workmanship. In my in-ear collection, the in-ears from Sennheiser are at the top in terms of workmanship, closely followed by EPOS.
At the beginning of my test, I had some ergonomic issues with the MOMENTUM. Eventually, my ears got used to the fit. The price of just under 200 euros may seem a bit high overall, but I find it more than fair for the great workmanship, the offered sound, and the high-quality codecs.
It is also important to know: Sennheiser’s MOMENTUM is not a product tailored for gaming. The latency is therefore quite high over Bluetooth, which I notice especially in fast-paced games. Like in music games, where timing is crucial. In a relaxed round of Anno, however, I can hardly wish for a better companion.

Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro
Release: October 2021 | Price (RRP): 159.99 euros | Compatible with: PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS | Focus: Entertainment
The Liberty 3 Pro from Soundcore is my insider tip. This is mainly due to the very good overall package: good sound, good battery life, and excellent ergonomics. In addition, the in-ears are reasonably well-constructed and offer plenty of accessories for ergonomics. The noise cancellation is also adequate, and quite a bit can be adjusted with the software.
Regularly, you can get Soundcore’s high-end model for under 100 euros, which is a real tip. Officially, the price is just under 160 euros, but I have never seen that price.
But keep in mind, you are not getting a product tailored for gaming. The latency is therefore quite high over Bluetooth.
For everyday use, especially if you’re on the go a lot and don’t want to spend more than 100 euros, you’re getting a great product here.
Sony WF-1000XM4
Release: Summer 2021 | Price (RRP): 279.99 euros | Compatible with: PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS | Focus: Entertainment
The Sony WF-1000XM4 unsurprisingly ranks first. Sony has achieved a true masterpiece here: The sound quality is excellent, and I have never experienced better noise canceling anywhere. The battery life is slightly below that of the competition. With the WF-1000XM5, there is already a successor on the market, but the differences to the predecessor are minimal.
The ear tips for the headphones unfortunately wear out quickly and get dirty quite fast. Sooner or later, you’ll have to buy replacement buds. I find that somewhat impractical. What also annoys me: Some features in the app are only accessible with a user account.

My conclusion: Winners, losers, and the surprise
Who is my winner? The Sony WF-1000XM4 is the winner. Excellent sound, good ergonomics, and outstanding noise canceling. Especially the latter makes every trip significantly more pleasant.
Is there a hidden tip? The Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro is my insider tip for under 100 euros. Excellent ergonomics, good sound, and an extensive software suite. The noise cancellation is good, although not as great as Sony’s.
What is the best option for gamers? If you only want to game with in-ears, then the Inzone Buds from Sony are the best option. They offer you very good options on the PC and PS5; outside of those, however, they are only limited in their flexibility due to technical constraints. That’s quite a shame, but it doesn’t change the very good sound quality.

Who is the loser? The HyperX Cloud Mix Buds are the losers on the list, although not as clearly as it might seem. Because the product from HyperX has a lot of potential that the model simply does not know how to utilize. Quite a shame, I think.
