PS5 controllers are best charged using the corresponding charging station. But which ones are worth it the most? MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann has tested 4 models and declared a winner.
How was the list created? There are plenty of charging stations for PS5 controllers on the market from various manufacturers. But which of them is worth it or does it not matter much which product I spend my money on?
For this reason, I ordered 4 models and wanted to find out how great the differences really are.
What criteria did I use to evaluate?
- Processing: How is the device built?
- Haptics and accessibility: How easy is it to operate the model?
- Price-performance ratio: What do I get for my money?

HeyStop charging station for PS5 controllers – weak processing and expensive
In last place is the charging station from HeyStop. The charging station feels poorly made, it is light and therefore does not feel very valuable due to its hollow sound. Charging the controllers requires a bit of fiddling but works flawlessly. A charging cable is included, but no plug. The price is around 15 euros.
Overall, the design of the charging station seems quite bulky to me. Rightly, this model lands in last place.
Meanwhile, there is also a 3Gen version of the station from HeyStop. I have not been able to test it yet because it was not available for purchase at that time. Now you can acquire 3Gen for about 18 euros.

NexiGo charging station for PS5 controllers – sturdy design with nice appearance
The NexiGo charging station ranks 3rd in my list. The design is bulky and large and requires by far the most space on my desk. However, this makes the model appear very stable and additionally valuable due to its high weight.
Due to the larger design, locking in the controllers does not feel as fiddly as with the HeyStop model.
The white NexiGo charging station costs around 15 euros. Other colors (pink and black) cost around 20 euros.

Sony charging station for PS5 controllers – The official device is expensive, has more accessories than the competition
Sony’s official charging station ranks 2nd for me. The price at around 30 euros is very high compared to the competition, but a suitable power supply for the charging station is already included in the package, which is not the case for the other models.
The design strongly resembles the official design of the PS5 with its curved corners. However, it is quite tricky to plug the controllers into the station. It has often happened to me that I have accidentally turned the PS5 back on while plugging in the controller.
The price is around 30 euros, making it the most expensive model on the list.

Lioncast controller charger – My price-performance tip
My first place goes to the charging station from Lioncast. The charging station costs around 8 euros on average and is fundamentally different from the other models. Because you don’t snap the controller in, but plug a small connector into the USB-C port and place the controller upside down on the charging station.
The advantage: The controller can be charged very easily, and this is much less fiddly than with the other models. In my opinion, this makes the charging station with its price of 8 euros simply unbeatable.

Winners and losers at a glance
Who is the winner? Clearly the model from Lioncast. An intuitive charging system, a simple and flat design, and the price of under 10 euros make this model an absolute tip for me.
Who is the loser? I simply do not like the HeyStop charging station. It seems bulky and of little value, and at around 16 euros, it is significantly more expensive than the winner.
Which charging station should I buy? Basically, all devices serve their purpose, as they all charge my PS5 controllers without any problems. My tip would be the model from Lioncast, which simply offers a great price-performance ratio. Even for 10 euros, I would still go for Lioncast.
Those who want to pay 15, 20 or more euros for such a charging station can also go directly for Sony. Because with them, for just under 30 euros, you not only get your valuable device, but also a power adapter.
