What kind of game is this? Infestation: Battle Royale combines survival and battle royale elements. You are on one of two maps alone or in groups of three and try to be the last survivor.
In doing so, you not only fight against other players but also with wandering zombies. Along the way, you find many weapons to defend yourself.
How is Infestation: Battle Royale doing currently? The game received very negative reviews right at release. One reason for this is that it is supposedly a new iteration of “Infestation: The New Z.” This was a mode from their game “The New Z”, which was based on “The War Z.”
The user Strife commented on Steam:
There has been absolutely no change compared to the battle royale mode of Infestation: The New Z. There are no new maps, no new weapons, no new menu, no new UI… nothing. The game will be dead in the next one to two weeks.
In fact, Infestation: Battle Royale is still alive 21 months after this comment. However, it doesn’t have many players left. In the last 30 days, an average of 5 players stopped by, with a peak of 17 simultaneous players. With 56 % negative ratings, it is slightly better than it was in 2021 but still not really good.
That’s why I believe Infestation will die in 2022: I was completely surprised that Infestation is still alive in early 2022. There are countless battle royale games on Steam and even outside the platform. Most of them are better executed than Infestation: Battle Royale.
In fact, new Twitch drops were activated on January 7, 2022. However, there has only been one Twitch livestream in the last 30 days, which was on December 26. I simply see no future for the game.
