Eternal Magic
Genre: MMORPG | Developer: Duoyi | Platform: PC | Release Date: April 17, 2020 | Model: Free2Play
What kind of game is this? Eternal Magic is a Free2Play MMORPG focusing on different PvP modes and social aspects. It offers:
- Capture the Flag, a MOBA arena, and guild wars
- Social features like in-game weddings, housing, or beauty contests. The beauty contest is officially called Queen’s Rating and allows only female characters to participate.
In combat, however, your gender doesn’t matter. Instead, the class synergies take center stage, from which you can choose five different ones.
If you don’t want to duel in PvP or on the runway, you can look forward to an open game world and dungeons of three different difficulty levels.
- In the leveling phase, you’ll encounter classic dungeons starting at level 18.
- From level 60, heroic versions will be added.
- There are also Chaos Dungeons, which are said to be particularly difficult.
How is Eternal Magic doing currently? The MMORPG made negative headlines for apparently copying from other games like WoW and GW2. This is also criticized in some negative reviews.
Other points of criticism include:
- Poor graphics
- Pay2Win
- Confusion regarding classes (healers wear heavy armor, gunners are listed as healers)
- Hackers and bots
- Optimization issues
Overall, Eternal Magic has a 64 % positive rating on Steam. However, there have only been 585 reviews here.
That’s why I believe Eternal Magic will die in 2021: In the last 30 days, only 47 players played Eternal Magic concurrently, peaking at 92 (via Steamcharts). Although the MMORPG can also be played outside of Steam, the title has received little attention here in the West and is considered to have mobile quality.
Along with the fact that much has been copied, I believe the title will not survive in 2021.
