Battlefield 6 – A round is always possible
I am not a veteran from the very beginning, but I have at least played every major installment of the shooter series since Battlefield 3 with great pleasure. The plan for Battlefield 6 was actually that I would at least play around the launch and support our shooter expert Dariusz – for example, with an extra opinion box in the preview report on Battlefield 6.
What I certainly wouldn’t have expected after the disappointing Battlefield 2042: The new installment is truly fun for me again in multiplayer! The weapons have plenty of punch, and I could hardly notice rough bugs and errors aside from the campaign, and I even like many of the new maps like Liberation Peak or New Sobek.
Although I was drawn away from Battlefield 6 by the sudden hype surrounding New World, I often catch myself logging in to fill half an hour or an hour with one or two quick matches. You know, to quickly complete the daily or weekly tasks. Or maybe not.
At the end of the day, I find myself choosing the classes that I have the most fun with anyway. I usually rush into battle as a specialist to drive tanks, repair them, and take planes out of the sky. Or I equip myself as a support with ammunition and a defibrillator to assist my teammates. Lying down with a supported LMG is the best way for me to go. I’m not getting any younger.
The fast, explosively staged battles provided a noisy counterpoint to the rather calm quest and crafting experiences from New World and Pax Dei. I had a good time in all three games.
However, I clearly had the most fun in Battlefield 6 … and if I only have time for one game next weekend, it will probably be EA’s shooter that gets the nod. That’s how it is in the age of service games … everyone is vying for players’ time, but only one can win.
