Softwood is one of the various woods that you can harvest in Hytale. We will show you how to reliably find it and what you need it for.
What is Softwood? Softwood is one of the more common woods in Hytale, and you can primarily harvest it from two different tree types: either Beech Trees or Aspen Trees. You need the wood for various constructions and blocks, but also to upgrade your Workbench to Tier 2.
But don’t worry, they are quite easy to find. You just need an axe and should be able to find some quickly. We will show you here how to identify the necessary trees.
Finding and Identifying Beech & Aspen Trees in Hytale
Both tree types are more commonly found in your world. You will often find them especially in Zone 1 in the Emerald Wilds, particularly in the Seedling Woods and Drifting Planes areas.
You should be able to find Aspen Trees the easiest, as they have fairly light bark and yellowish-orange leaves that you can’t miss. Open your map and look out for orange trees. Then run over there and harvest them – you will have some Softwood Logs in your inventory.
Alternatively, you can look for Beech Trees. They are a bit darker with light green leaves. Here, you can see both trees:
Harvest them and you will get enough material for your upgrade or the constructions you want to produce. You can also simply plant saplings of the trees near your base to avoid having to walk so far in the future.
For the Workbench upgrade, you only need 5 Softwood Logs, so you should be able to accomplish that quickly. You will always find more for any constructions from the wood at the mentioned locations.
