With Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, one of the best co-op shooters on Steam is getting a successor. Fans can hardly wait for the return of the space dwarves.
What kind of game is Deep Rock Galactic? The co-op shooter from the first-person perspective allows you to take on the role of tough dwarves with up to three friends. One special feature is that the game offers no classic medieval fantasy but rather Sci-Fi.
- In space suits and armed with heavy weapons, you fight not against orcs, but against hordes of aliens.
- The environments of the individual levels are procedurally generated and completely destructible. You are free to carve your own path through the mines – preferably through the wall.
Players give Deep Rock Galactic on Steam 97% positive reviews. The shooter is especially fun in co-op with friends. Additionally, the developers at Ghost Ship Games constantly supply their game with fresh content.

Familiar experience with some new mechanics
What makes Rogue Core special? Deep Rock Galactic has developed into one of the best co-op shooters on Steam over time: So why should fans switch to a new game? The biggest difference lies in the new “roguelite” mechanics:
- At the beginning of each mission in Rogue Core, you only have your basic gear at hand.
- During the level, you collect random upgrades, equipment, and abilities with which you create your own build.
- The developers promise the “potential for extremely powerful upgrades and synergies.”
While the difficulty in Deep Rock Galactic was relatively consistent within missions, Rogue Core wants to demand much more from you. The further you progress in a level, the harder the fight against the alien hordes should be.
Rogue Core is also said to include a progression system across missions. So you don’t always start completely from scratch.

What are the reactions so far? Judging by the comments under the latest trailer on YouTube, many fans are already quite hyped. Although “hype” doesn’t seem to be the right word for many.

- Some fans have also already started to adjust their mantra: From “Rock and Stone” it quickly becomes “Rogue and Stone”.
