Crytek’s online action game Hunt: Showdown is currently in early access and fans are thirsting for more content. This has now been teased in the form of a new map.
Hunt: Showdown shows how a game in early access keeps improving. Fans can now look forward to a new, very interesting map.
The second map is coming!
What kind of map is this? The video teaser shows a small town, as seen in western films. This town appears to be recovering from the chaos of the American Civil War. According to the video, the map is named “Lawson Delta,” suggesting that we are in a little town by a river delta. More details about the map will be revealed by Crytek at Twitch Con. Hopefully, we will also find out when the map will be released.
A new map – It was about time: Hunt: Showdown launched in February 2018 via Steam into the early access phase. It only included one map, which is still played today. However, a single map is a bit meager, even for an early access game. That’s why fans have long hoped to finally receive new content. With “Lawson Delta,” the players’ requests are now being heard.
How are players reacting? Fans of the online shooter are already actively debating what the new map will offer. There is speculation that it could be a battlefield of the Civil War. Players are certainly expecting something new and exciting.
Hunt exploits the early access phase
What is Hunt: Showdown? Crytek aims to create an exciting shooter with a mystery scenario.
- In Hunt, up to five teams consisting of two players each set out in late 19th-century Louisiana to search for supernatural creatures.
- PvE and PvP elements are mixed together.
- You fight horrific monsters.
- Other players can put a bounty on you and then hunt you.
- Your hero gets better over time.
- When you die, your experience is transferred to a new hero.
A typical early access game: When Hunt: Showdown launched in February, it was met with heavy criticism and poor reviews. The game was considered far too unfinished at the time. There were numerous bugs and performance left a lot to be desired. However, the developers have tirelessly worked on the game. Now, the rating on Steam has reached “Mostly Positive” and fans praise especially the team play and fun factor.
Of course, there are still a few problems, including bugs or technical issues. Nevertheless, Hunt exemplifies what early access really means and how a game can continuously improve during this phase. There is still no news about the Xbox One version.
