The new MMORPG New World is still causing a stir. In the latest episode of our MeinMMO Podcast, we talk about a bizarre incident that highlights both the strengths and weaknesses of the online role-playing game.
This is the topic: New World is a new western MMORPG from Amazon. It allows you to explore a large, new world but also focuses on PvP content. At the launch of the game, there was quite a hassle because the servers were completely overcrowded and you might not get into your desired realm.
However, an option has now been added that allows you to switch servers. But this has not only pleasant consequences. The biggest Twitch streamer from Hungary apparently used the option to raid an English server with a horde of 500 followers and create a lot of chaos there.
This incident also brings attention back to another topic. Namely, whether it is fair that large streamers are favored by the developers, for example with special accounts to bypass waiting queues.
We also discuss whether New World can really prove itself as a top game in the long run. At least star streamer shroud seems to believe so.
