Season 4 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone launched this morning. However, there are apparently a few issues that the developers want to fix directly with a new playlist update. The community, however, sees quite different problems.
What’s in the update: As the official Twitter account of the developers of Call of Duty tweeted at 11:00 AM on June 11, a new playlist update is being rolled out. This only changes two things:
- The point limit in the new Warzone mode “Rumble” is raised to 400
- The mode “Gun Game” is temporarily removed due to technical issues
Rumble was introduced with the huge update for Season 4 of Modern Warfare and Warzone and is a massive 50vs50 team deathmatch on the battle royale map Verdansk, including vehicles and custom loadouts.
The temporarily disabled Gun Game is a special multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare, where players receive a different (and usually better) weapon for each kill. It is a popular mode for quick fun in between, but has suffered from a bug since the update.
Playlist update comes quickly, but players complain
The issues with Rumble and Gun Game don’t seem to bother the community much at the moment. They seem to be more concerned about the enormous download size of the new update of over 50 GB.
On the Xbox One, the download size even reached over 80 GB, which was likely an error that is being addressed. However, there are players who started the download of that size and are now stuck halfway through. They haven’t even been able to play Season 4 so far:

The download sizes and the game itself have been causing annoyance for some time now. Players are struggling with huge downloads, especially on consoles. While there are now tips from the developers for reducing storage space, the problem of large downloads remains.
The new mode Rumble seems to have received mixed feelings overall. So far, there are still too few voices to give a proper assessment, but at least some dissatisfied players are complaining on Twitter.
Additionally, several Twitter users are demanding the return of the 24/7 modes the popular maps Shipment and Shoot House. Apparently, they want both options as permanent modes.
This, in turn, leads to more players joining the discussion and wondering why others are already complaining just hours after the launch of Season 4.
Another issue currently concerns crossplay between PS4, PC, and Xbox One – or more precisely, the use of a controller. Apparently the aim assist for controllers is currently too strong and is bothering even some controller users, especially PC players. We are curious what further bug fixes the devs have in store for the coming days.
