The new gaming show “Teammates” by Twitch streamers Trymacs and Amar celebrated its successful premiere over the weekend. At its peak, up to 220,000 fans were watching.
What kind of gaming show is this? The show is called “Teammates” and lives up to its name. 2 teams of two compete against each other in various games. Overall, the format is reminiscent of the TV show “Schlag den Raab”, but it also has its own exciting approaches.
There are games around general knowledge, but the gaming world is also included. For example, the opponents dueled in Call of Duty during the 6-hour show.
In the first episode, Trymacs and Amar teamed up against the Stuttgart duo Inscope21 and UnsympathischTV.
30,000 Euros prize money and 220,000 viewers on Twitch
This is how successful the show was: The streaming took place on Trymacs’ and Amar’s channels. While Trymacs’ channel took over the first hours, Amar’s channel streamed the last hours. The numbers for the show are impressive (via sullygnome):

- On average, there were 181,000 viewers on Trymacs’ channel
How did the show go? Impressively professionally, the two duos faced off over the 6 hours. A dedicated studio, a host, and a commentator were involved. It was a clear difference from a classic stream from their own four walls.
There were various games in which the opponents measured their skills. Games included table football, football dart, or various quizzes on general knowledge. Points were awarded for each game, and the team with the most points at the end won.

Amar is also a heavyweight on Twitch. He ranks 6th in Germany when looking at the watch time of the last 90 days. On average, Amar has over 14,000 simultaneous viewers, landing him at 6th place nationwide.
Twitch Germany is orienting itself towards TV shows
This is interesting: It is not the first show from Twitch Germany that reminds one of a television program. In the summer of 2020, streamer Knossi teamed up with Sido for the Angelcamp, which even set a viewer record back then. This was followed by the Horrorcamp, which broke this record again.
In general, it is clear that German streamers are increasingly moving away from classic streams and often organize much larger shows.
This turn is also evident in the show “Teammates”. An elaborate show was set up there, requiring a large team behind the scenes.
This is how it works with the English streams: English-speaking streamers often stick to their own streams and do not turn it into a huge show. As a result, they are often no less successful. They often stream from their own four walls and are limited to the means available there.
In the USA, however, streamers are often known beyond Twitch and are real stars. The former biggest streamer in the world, Ninja, was for example part of the US show “The Masked Singer” or was allowed to perform at the big New Year’s Eve celebration in New York’s Times Square.
