In Pokémon GO major changes for the raids could be coming soon. A find by the Pokeminers points to exciting new features.
What kind of find is this? The dataminer group “Pokeminers” has searched the data of the APK version 0.265.0 and found exciting hints in the code for new features (via pokeminers.com).
The Pokeminers are known for revealing content, events, and similar things in Pokémon GO early on. And now they have found exciting changes regarding raids that could be coming in the future.
Among other things, there is talk of “Crypto-Raids” as well as other features. We present their find to you here.
How will the raids change? This is what the dataminers found
New Crypto-Raids are supposed to come: The first feature reported by the dataminers is called “Shadow Raids”. The “Shadow” content is the “Crypto” content in German.
So these are likely to be raids that highlight the strong Crypto-Pokémon. According to Pokeminers, there are 5 different levels for Crypto-Raids listed in the code.
They are also supposed to bring additional XP and can also be fought as remote raids. In addition, the dataminers found a hint for an “S-Raid Ticket”, which could be a new type of raid pass for the Crypto-Raids.
Currently, there is no further information available about the Crypto-Raids – but there is on other raid features that could come.
3 more features for raids found
In addition to the Crypto-Raids, the Pokeminers also found hints in the code for more mechanics that could make raids more interesting.
“Move Modifier”: This is supposed to be a modifier that changes how attacks behave or affect battles. A modifier could mean, for instance, that an attack becomes stronger, or something similar. The feature is also expected to be present in PvP.
The miners explain that this could also be groundwork for features like “Z-Moves” or “Dynamax” from the main games. It is also supposed to be related to the next feature.
“Form Change”: This could involve form changes of a Pokémon that can be carried out during a raid in specific situations. These would then also change the attacks, as described above.
“Battle Items”: There are still no specific details here, but the dataminers found hints that certain items could be used in battles in the future. According to the Pokeminers, it is conceivable that this is related to the form changes, alternatively, it could also involve something like healing items.
Changes and new features for raids not yet certain
What you should keep in mind: One must consider that these are leaks, not official announcements from Niantic. Whether and when the features will come into the game is completely open.
Overall, it remains to be seen how the features will find their way into the game. It is clear: should they come, it could make raids more exciting.
