In Outriders, a large part of the game revolves around finding better equipment. The co-op shooter offers numerous ways to collect gear. MeinMMO shows you a farming method where you don’t even have to fight to collect epic gear.
What kind of method is this? Some of you might already know the farming method from the free demo of Outriders. It utilizes the mechanic where you can restart any point in the story that you have already played simply through the menu.
If you select a point, it will be reloaded, and all enemies and loot chests will be reloaded. In the first chapter of the story, loot can be collected without having to pull the trigger on your weapons even once.
In the first chapter, collecting loot is very convenient
Here’s what you need to do: Go to the lobby and select the option “Choose Story Point”. There, you need to set the chapter to “Rift Town”.
Now, you just need to start the story point “Fight the Altered at the Tower”. There you will spawn directly in front of the solar tower where the mission boss awaits you.
This is how you collect loot now: Instead of running to the boss, you can conveniently collect the loot chests in the area before the boss. There are five in total, but it goes much faster if you open the three chests in and around the solar tower. Depending on what level you are, you can even get epic loot from these chests.
In the demo, it was even possible at times to find legendary weapons there. However, developer People Can Fly changed that with a patch. It is still unclear whether this will also be the case in the full version. However, it can be assumed.
Where can you find these chests? We will show you the locations starting from the beginning of the story point.
Loot Chest 1 in the Tower
This is how you find the chest: You spawn directly in front of the entrance to the tower. There you need to take the second turn to the right. You can see this more closely in the screenshots:
Loot Chest 2 in front of the Tower
This is how you find the chest: Instead of going into the tower, turn around. Orient yourself to the right and go to the slope in front of the solar tower. There at the edge, you will find the chest, here again shown in the gallery:
Loot Chest 3 below the Tower
This is how you find the chest: From the tower, you need to follow the path down to the left until you reach the first junction. There, take the right path, which is flooded with water. Here in pictures:
When is epic loot available? We received our first epic weapon as a quest reward in chapter 3. It was at level 15. Epic loot seems to drop as soon as you unlock world rank 10.
Why is epic loot so good? This is the level before legendary, so the second highest in the game. Weapons and armor pieces of this level come with two mod slots and have modifications of higher tiers.
There are certainly other ways to quickly and effectively obtain equipment. However, the farming method presented here is likely one of the easiest and earliest ways in Outriders. Whether the developers will change anything about this remains to be seen.
