The co-op RPG Genshin Impact has been out for only a few days, and already there is news about what the future holds for the game. A leak in the official Genshin subreddit revealed 4 characters that may be playable.
These contents are confirmed: During a stream by the developers miHoYo at the Tokyo Game Show, a new character was announced. His name is Dainsleif, and he is a swordsman from Khaen’riah.
According to the stream, Dainsleif carries a heavy past. A tweet from the official Genshin account also refers to him as a “Truth-Seeker.” His Japanese voice actor is Kenjirou Tsuda, known for his role as Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh!
However, his star rank and element are unknown. Fans speculate based on his appearance that he may have 4 to 5 stars and the element Cryo.
On the official Genshin Impact page, attentive fans have also discovered a new tab in the character overview. On the left in the column where the two cities of the game are listed, there is a new tab labeled “Coming Soon.”
This indicates that the developer will soon introduce a new city or area at that point. A leak on reddit also reveals which city it could be.
Leaks and rumors about update 1.1
Where does the info come from? The leaks were originally posted by several users in the official Genshin Impact subreddit. The images of the new characters and info about the update supposedly come from the test servers.
It is unclear how reliable this information is; however, all posts were deleted by the subreddit moderation with the note:

This suggests that this information is real. However, it should still be taken with caution.
The reddit posts were noticed by the YouTuber Demone Kim, who uploaded and commented on them on his channel.
What was leaked? According to Demone Kim, the reddit post contained some general info about update 1.1.
- Continuation of the storyline quest starting at AR 30
- A new event with rewards
- New playable characters
- A new area with the city “Inazuma.” It is speculated that this is the “Coming Soon” city on the official page
- A new character that will be obtained after reaching adventure rank 42
Additionally, according to the leak, some system updates are planned, such as daily bonuses, a friends and messaging system, and ultra graphics settings for PC players. The game will apparently become even prettier than it already is, which is celebrated by the players.
Which characters were leaked? In total, images of 4 characters that are supposed to be playable in the future reached the subreddit, and they sound like an interesting addition to the current roster of the RPG.
3 of them are already in the game and will be encountered during the storyline. So if you don’t want to be spoiled on who you will meet during your gameplay, just check out the first completely new character.

This is Xinyan: The new character is Xinyan. She has a 4-star rank and uses Pyro as her element.
The interesting thing about Xinyan is also her weapon. In the artwork, none of the classic weapons currently available in Genshin Impact can be seen. Instead, she rocks some kind of guitar or bass. Therefore, many fans speculate that it might be a new weapon type.
This is Zhongli: The first of the two 5-star characters is Zhongli. The artwork shows that he is a geo character and wields a spear as a weapon. He is already present in the current version of Genshin Impact, and you will meet him during the story (adventure rank about 29).
This is Childe: The second of the two 5-star characters is Childe, whom you will also encounter later in the story (adventure rank about 23). He uses the Hydro element.
In the new artwork, he also seems to be using some kind of spear as a weapon. Attentive fans have pointed out that this is unusual. In the game, he wields two daggers, which can also be seen in the artwork upon closer inspection. It is speculated that he might be able to switch between the two weapon types.
This is Diona: Lastly, a second 4-star character has been introduced. She is again a character that currently appears as an NPC in the game. Her name is Diona, and she uses Cryo as her element.
As with other characters, nothing is known about her abilities yet, but there are again speculations. Fans suspect that the crosses on her artwork indicate that she could be a healing character.
