Unlocking Raids in “A Realm Reborn”

8-player raid – Unlocking the “Twisted Shadows of Bahamut”

What is it about? The “Twisted Shadows of Bahamut” – in English “Coils of Bahamut,” or just Coils – are the first “normal raids” in Final Fantasy XIV.

In the story of the raid, you follow the trail of destruction caused by the dragon Bahamut. In the depths of the First, you discover an ancient edifice built by the fallen Allagan empire. There, you learn what happened to Bahamut after the massive explosion of Carteneau. The twins Alphinaud and Alisaie accompany you on this journey.

What unique features are there? The “Twisted Shadows of Bahamut” have a relatively high difficulty, so they are usually only played when the players’ level and gear are not synced to 50.

Alliance raid – Unlocking “The Crystal Tower”

What is it about? During the “Crystal Tower” alliance raids, the players explore the Crystal Tower visible from Mor Dhona. This structure from the days of the ancient Allagan harbors many secrets. You do not have to undertake the expedition alone, but will be accompanied by some old and new characters.

What unique features are there? The Crystal Tower is the only raid that players must visit if they want to complete the main story. This is due to the tower’s special relevance to the later story.
