Do you want to participate in the beta of World of Warcraft Shadowlands? Then you should register now to participate as early as possible.
In the past few days, there has been a lot of buzz about the start of the alpha or beta for WoW Shadowlands. First, Ion Hazzikostas said in an interview that “very soon” there would be new information, and now hints of the first alpha client have been found in the Battle.net app. To participate in the beta, you should register promptly.
How can you sign up for the beta? To have a chance of accessing the beta of WoW Shadowlands, you need to visit the official Shadowlands website:
- Make sure you are logged into the correct Battle.net account.
- Scroll down and click the “Sign Up Now” button.
- The button should then turn gray and you should see the message “Registration successful – Thank you! Your registration for the beta has been received” below it.
That’s it. You are now registered for the beta of WoW Shadowlands and just need a bit of luck.
When does the beta start? There is not yet a specific date for the start of the beta. However, since the first alpha files are already available in the Battle.net launcher, the internal alpha is likely to start this week or next week. A closed beta for more participants typically follows just a few weeks later. We will report as soon as a specific date is known.
How will selection be made? It is not yet known what criteria Blizzard will use to allow players into the beta of WoW Shadowlands. In the past, there was a strong emphasis on different PC systems to cover and test a wide range of hardware. However, it is unlikely that it will follow a “first come, first served” principle. That was not the case back then either.
As soon as there are clear criteria from Blizzard for participation in the beta, we will update this article.
