How to play CoD Warzone Mobile with a controller

In CoD Warzone Mobile, you play the Battle Royale shooter from Activision, but this time on your mobile phone or tablet. Although the controls are acceptable, many fans prefer to play with a controller. We show you how it’s done.

CoD Warzone Mobile launched on March 21, 2024 and lets you compete against up to 120 players on the maps “Verdansk” and “Rebirth Island”. Despite the touchscreen of mobile devices, fans prefer to face their enemies with a controller, and the good news is that such an option is possible.

How do I play CoD: Warzone Mobile with a controller?

Here’s how: To play CoD Warzone Mobile with a controller, you first need a compatible controller that you can connect to your phone or tablet. The connection is handled by the Bluetooth of your device. The following console controllers can be used for this purpose:

• Xbox Wireless Controller
• Xbox Elite Wireless Controller
• PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller
• PS4 DualShock 4 Controller
• Backbone One Controller

To connect the PlayStation controller to your phone, you need to press and hold the PlayStation and Share buttons at the same time. This puts your controller into “pairing mode”, and it will then appear on your phone.

For Xbox, you need to press and hold the pairing button, the side button with three arrows, for three seconds until your controller appears in the Bluetooth settings of your phone.

Now you just need to connect your phone or tablet to the controller, and you can immediately start playing with your controller as if you were on the console.

What should I keep in mind? The setting is not permanent and can be changed to touchscreen at any time if the controller bothers you while playing. The good thing is that your device will immediately recognize the controller. So you don’t have to select it separately in the settings.

However, you should adjust some settings such as the fire mode in the settings before starting a match. Otherwise, you might experience a rude awakening and won’t be able to control your soldier as you’d like.
