Guild Wars 2 has released a patch that is supposed to prepare for the final episode of the Living World Season 4. The side story revolves around the Mists and the fight against the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik. As a reward, new weapon skins await.
What happens in the new events? In Central Tyria, the base game of Guild Wars 2, new Rift events appear mainly in areas level 15 to 25. You must complete these to receive items that have to be delivered to certain NPCs at the end.
How long do the events last? The events appear every 10 minutes and take about 7 minutes to complete. Since you need to participate in each event once, you will need approximately 70 minutes for each individual event or 100 minutes to complete 10 Rift events for the second achievement.
What rewards are there? There are two achievements that reward you with 5 or 8 achievement points. Additionally, there is a Rift Stalker back piece that can be upgraded to a new weapon.

Guide to the Events
This is when the events start: The events start every 10 minutes, always at XX:00, XX:10 continuously. There might not be a beginning or end to the events, but there is a specific order in which they appear:
- Kessex Hills – Waypoint [&BBMAAAA=]
- Lornars Pass – Waypoint [&BJkBAAA=]
- Iron Marches – Waypoint [&BOQBAAA=]
- Brisban Wildlands – Waypoint [&BF0AAAA=]
- Shatterer’s Cliffs – Waypoint [&BFcCAAA=]
- Diessa Plateau – Waypoint [&BJoDAAA=]
- Snowdrift Caves – Waypoint [&BLsAAAA=]
It is important that one run takes 70 minutes. Therefore, there is no fixed time per map. You need to determine where the current state is and then follow the sequence. Alternatively, you can use the timer by That_Shaman.
Once you complete an event, you will automatically land in the area and at the spot where the next event will start.
The first event in Tyria: At the beginning, an event starts where you must free a portal from its protective barrier so that you can enter the Mists.
To remove the barrier, you need to catch crystals. These fly from the portal in all directions. You must stand in the appropriate zones within the white circles to catch the crystal:
Then you need to run up to the portal and activate the crystal there. Just press the new skill #1 that you received. This weakens the barrier.
Once the barrier is destroyed, the portal opens, and you can enter the Mists. You have a maximum of five minutes to complete the barrier event; otherwise, it fails, and you must travel to the next area.
The event in the Mists: In the Mists, a Rift Stalker waits for you. You might know it from previous storyline episodes or from events on the latest map.
The Rift Stalker has several AoE attacks that you should avoid. It also has a phase at 75%, 50%, and 25% where it becomes invulnerable. During this phase, it builds a shield that can only be broken with the crystals.
The mechanic that was previously used in the open world is now needed again. However, if a crystal is not caught, small branded Devourers will appear this time, attacking you as well.
Once you have successfully defeated the Rift Stalker, a 30-second timer will appear. During this time, a deadly field spreads throughout the area. You must quickly reach the portal (via a small jumping puzzle).
If you do not use the portal, you will not receive a Wobble Chest, and thus, you will not get the necessary item for the achievement.
Delivering Items to NPCs
The achievements: There are two achievements related to the events. For the “Rift Runner” (5 achievement points), you simply need to travel to the Mists ten times and close rifts there.
For the achievement “Helpful Hero” (8 achievement points), you must close each individual rift once (starting from each map) and then bring the items found to specific people.
It is important that for the description of the items, it matters where you exit. For example, the Lost Golem must be taken to the Brisban Wildlands. To get it, you must complete the event before the Brisban Wildlands, in this case, Iron Marches!
The locations of the people: For the locations, we will start in the same order in which we listed the events above. At the respective places, both the people and the Rift events themselves are located. Ideally, you should directly hand over the found item.

The Crafting of Rift Stalker Weapons
This is how you craft the weapons: As a reward for the “Helpful Hero” achievement, you receive a Rift Stalker back piece. You need this for crafting the weapons.
However, you can also find it by chance in loot bags from the events or buy it from other players at the Trading Post.
To create the weapon in the Mystic Forge, you will need:
- 1x Rift Stalker back piece
- 25x Mystic Crystals (available at the Forge vendor)
- 25x Ectoplasm Sphere
- 1x The corresponding T7 weapon piece (Deldrimor Steel Greatsword Handle, Deldrimor Steel Sword Handle, or Ghostwood Scepter Staff)
