Team GO Rocket returns to Pokémon GO and takes over an event again. Along with some new crypto monsters, there is also the debut of a legendary monster in its crypto form.
What kind of event is this? This time, Team GO Rocket has taken over the “Crown Clash” event. The takeover starts on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 00:00 and lasts until Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 23:59. The highlight of the event is expected to be the debut of Crypto-Dialga.
How do I get Crypto-Dialga? At the start of the event, you will receive a special research task. If you complete it, you can obtain a Super Rocket Radar and use it to seek out and challenge Giovanni. If you defeat him, you can catch Crypto-Dialga from him.
You have until June 3, 2025, at 9:59 am to pick up the special research. The additional spawns from the Rockets allow you to complete the research much faster during the event than afterwards.

What bonuses are there in the event? The following bonuses are active during the event:
- Team GO Rocket appears more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons
- Your Pokémon can forget the charge move Frustration
- The values for attack, defense, and HP for Pokémon from 1-star and 3-star crypto raids vary more than usual
You should take the opportunity to have your Crypto Pokémon forget Frustration. There are some monsters that are particularly worth it.
Which new crypto Pokémon are there? At the start of the event, there will be some monsters that you can obtain for the first time in their crypto variants from Rocket Grunts. These Pokémon are new:
- Crypto-Bummelz
- Crypto-Iscalar
- Crypto-Balgoras
- Crypto-Amarino
What monsters are available in crypto raids? During the event, you can defeat various monsters in crypto raids and catch them after a successful battle.
1-Star Crypto Raids:

- Crypto-Kramurx*
- Crypto-Spoink
3-Star Crypto Raids:
- Crypto-Lapras*
- Crypto-Keifel
- Crypto-Strepoli
All monsters marked with a * can also appear as shiny.
Changes to eggs: At the start of the event, there will be a slight change to the eggs. While you could previously obtain Larvitar and Gladiantri from 12-km eggs, you will now find both monsters in 10-km eggs.
More content of the event: There will also be field research tasks adapted to the event. You can receive Instant TMs, Charge TMs, and mysterious parts as rewards. Additionally, you can participate in PokéStop showcases with event Pokémon.
For $4.99 (about €5), you can purchase a limited research task. Here, you will receive, among other things, a Super Rocket Radar, 2 Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with Nidoqueen with a crown and Nidoking with a crown as rewards.
