In Destiny 2, Spider offers a new major Wanted bounty. You are to track down and eliminate the Burner Valus. If you succeed, powerful gear awaits. We explain how to find and kill the Escaped.
Who is the Burner Valus? He is the final boss of the new weekly bounty “Wanted: Burner Valus”. He has escaped from the Prison of Elders, and your task now is to hunt and eliminate him. You can find the bounty with Spider – the vendor of the Shattered Shore.
What reward will I receive? If you complete the bounty, you will receive “Powerful Gear”. This is random loot that will grant items that exceed the soft cap of Power Level 500. While nearly all activities will bring you up to Power Level 500, the sources for powerful gear in Forsaken are limited weekly.
The Burner Valus is the only bounty at Spider in the second week of Forsaken that grants powerful gear. You can use his other weekly bounties to get up to Power Level 500.
Location and Mechanics of the Burner Valus in Destiny 2 Forsaken
How to find and defeat the Burner Valus:
Step 1: Go to Spider in the Shattered Shore and acquire the bounty “Wanted: Burner Valus” with five Ghost Fragments.
Note: You must be at least Power Level 500 to accept the bounty. The recommended Power Level is even 540. However, the bounty can also be tackled with a lower level in a fireteam. The bounty expires seven days after purchase.
You can find Ghost Fragments, for example, by completing public events in the Shattered Shore.
Step 2: Fly to Mercury and search for the Lost Sector “Refuge of the Pariahs”. It is easy to find since it is the only Lost Sector in Mercury and is also located right next to the corresponding adventure symbol.
Step 3: Accept the adventure and enter the Lost Sector. There you will encounter strong enemies that will likely exceed your Power Level. Do not rush in recklessly, but proceed with caution.
Fight your way through the ranks of enemies and follow the path of the Lost Sector until you reach a large room with an orange energy dome, which you can actually pass through. Inside is the Burner Valus and two to three Phalanx guards.
Step 4: But before you tackle the boss, you should take care of the enemies outside the shield. They deal significant damage and have their own overshields. Therefore, solar and void weapons and subclasses are particularly recommended here.
There are no enemies with arc shields; most of them have solar protection. The boss himself has a void shield.
So eliminate all enemies first, except those waiting in the shield bubble of the Burner Valus.
How to Defeat the Final Boss, Burner Valus
Now eliminate the Burner Valus. The boss will not leave his shield bubble – you will need to go in and bring him down inside the dome. Inside the energy field, you will continuously take burn damage, but you will not be suppressed. You can use your weapons and abilities there as normal.
While you can destroy the generator inside the bubble that maintains the force field, it is not necessary. The Burner Valus can be more easily taken down if he stays within the dome.
Now run into the bubble, fire a few shots as your health allows, and then run back out to regenerate. You do not necessarily have to eliminate his guards. Just be careful that they do not block your shots. Recommended weapons are rocket launchers, shotguns, grenade launchers, and (linear) fusion rifles.
After the boss has taken a significant amount of damage, more enemies will flood the room. So take care of the reinforcements first. Especially if you are underleveled, it is advisable to fight from the entrance of the room. The enemies will not follow you down the steps. You can recover there if necessary.
Repeat this process a few times until the Burner Valus is defeated.
Note: If you die, you will need to start the fight over. The Burner Valus will have full health again.
