In Call of Duty: Warzone, a second earlier on the ground can determine whether you survive or die in the first moments. MeinMMO shares some tricks that let you land faster than your opponents – no matter where you want to land on the map.
What are these tricks? With our tricks for faster landing in Warzone, you ensure that you are the first one to hit the ground. We present three different methods by which you can cover any distance.
The tips come from the YouTuber and CoD expert TheXclusiveAce, who has also created a training for better aiming and warming up in Warzone.
Why is this useful? If you land before your opponents, you can loot faster – even if it’s just a few milliseconds. You can open boxes faster or pick up a weapon immediately, giving you an advantage over pistol players.

3 Methods for Quick and Optimal Landing
It’s important to choose the right method for the correct distance so you don’t waste unnecessary time in the air. First, select one of the best landing spots in Warzone to aim for.
Then estimate how far the distance to your target is, using the marked squares on the map. You will determine the landing method based on the distance from the flight path of the plane:
- 1-1.5 squares
- up to 3.5 squares
- and more squares to the end of the map
1. Short (1-1.5 Squares) – No Parachute
If your preferred zone is between one and one and a half squares away from the plane’s distance, you will not use the parachute at all. Your horizontal speed is enough to move over this distance.
Mark the landing zone and aim for the marker. Adjust slightly upwards if necessary to land flatter and gain more distance.
However, make sure not to jump out of the plane directly above the targeted point, but about one square in front of it. This way, you will already be half on the ground before other players, who jump directly above the point, even leave the plane.
With a trick for PS4 and Xbox One, you can then ensure that you loot much faster.
2. Medium (up to 3.5 Squares) – Open and Close Parachute
This method is widely used and recommended by many players. If you want to land a little off the flight route, it’s advisable to continuously open and close the parachute. Follow a very simple pattern:
- set a marker for landing at the appropriate distance
- aim for the marker and move in free fall
- once you reach a speed of about 40-50 meters per second (shown on the right of the screen), open the parachute
- immediately close the parachute again
- fall again until you reach a speed of 40-50 meters per second and repeat until you land
If your target is a bit closer or further away, you can adjust the distance you actually fly based on your speed. With higher falling speed, you fly shorter, and with lower falling speed, you fly further. At 40-50 meters per second, you cover about 3-3.5 squares.
3. Long (Across the Entire Map) – Only Parachute
The third method presented by Ace uses only the parachute. Once you leave the airplane and can deploy the parachute, you open it and keep it deployed.
This way, you descend as slowly as possible and probably land after all other players, but you can traverse the entire map. This is only advisable if you really want to land at the other end of the map, for example, to complete a challenge there.
This way you start the game a bit later than all other players, but you will most likely have more preparation time. Instead of early fights, you will arrive fully equipped later and have a better chance of getting a loadout with the best weapons for Warzone or the most useful items of the battle royale before heading into battle.
More Tips for Faster Landing
There are still some details about landing that can give you a slight advantage over others if you use them correctly. Along with our landing tips, you can design your own methods that fit your play style:
- the airplane is faster than you when you fall. Use it as long as you need it
- airplane: 75m/s horizontal
- player: up to 40m/s horizontal
- you always fall from 500m above sea level. So you are faster on the ground if you jump over a mountain
- one grid square always measures 375 meters by 375 meters
- once you have used the parachute at least once, you must open it manually before landing – it will no longer open automatically
A common mistake many players make is opening the parachute too early. Modern Warfare wants to be realistic, but that doesn’t apply to falling physics.
As soon as you open the parachute, you immediately lose your falling speed. Therefore, it is sufficient to open the chute just before hitting the ground to avoid dying. This way you can gain a few milliseconds.
