In Destiny 2, players usually have to invest a lot of time to get enough enhancement cores and legendary shards. However, one player has now shown his effective farming method that brings a lot and also saves some time.
There are materials that are extremely important if you want to upgrade your gear. If you want to make your best weapons and armor masterpieces, you have to spend a lot. Of course, you could also fly to Spider, the black market vendor in the Tangled Shore, and trade there. But that is not always a good deal. Therefore, players are always looking for current farming methods to efficiently acquire the desired materials.
To make a legendary weapon from the lowest level to a masterpiece in Destiny 2, you need a total of:
- 17 enhancement cores
- 27 legendary shards
- 10,000 glimmer
Material farming takes a long time: As a classic loot shooter, collecting items is essential in Destiny 2. However, special materials, aside from glimmer, cannot simply be collected in the “Open World”. One has to either get lucky or play for a long time to build up a cushion. However, those who are just starting or haven’t invested much time in the game can quickly go broke without a buffer of materials.
This also happened to Destiny 2 YouTuber Misleading. To change this, he demonstrated two amazing methods on his YouTube channel, showing how he has solved this problem and quickly obtains many legendary shards and enhancement cores. He simply uses his ghost.
You can see how he does this here:
This is what you need for this farming method: To replicate the YouTuber’s first method, you first need a ghost shell with at least a 5 energy level. You then insert the economic mod “Banshee’s Special” into it. This mod generates weapon telemetry data at an increased rate for all elemental weapon kills.
Additionally, you need a good energy weapon for maximum efficiency. Misleading recommends three exotics because with these weapons you can trigger a deadly chain reaction.
- The exotic bow “Trinity Ghoul”.
- The exotic submachine gun “Riskrunner”.
- The exotic hand cannon “Sunshot”.
Once you have that together, you need to get as many kills as possible. You can most easily achieve this at the typical add-farm spots in Destiny 2. Once in the dungeon “The Shattered Throne”. There, infinite thralls spawn that you just have to eliminate. Or you can fly to the Moon and farm the “Altars of Sorrow” and the Escalation Protocol 2.0 there.
This is what you gain from it: For every kill, you receive increased weapon telemetry data. This can be turned in at the tower at the Gunsmith Banshee. If you dismantle these drops, you will always get legendary shards and occasionally enhancement cores. Through the mass, you can quickly obtain part of the material needed to turn your weapons and armor into masterpieces.
By the way, Spider may soon no longer be there to swap your destination materials:
With Vanguard Strikes, the method becomes even more effective
In the coming week, you can even earn more enhancement cores. Commander Zavala will offer double rewards for the Vanguard Nightfall Strikes. You can use this to farm even more efficiently.
This mod change is important: To collect several enhancement cores per run from a Nightfall, you again use a ghost mod. This time “Minor Core Yield (Vanguard)”. Defeating bosses in Vanguard playlist strikes or Nightfalls grants a chance for an enhancement core. For the mod, you need a ghost with at least a 4 energy level.
In the video, Misleading shows that the farming method works best in the Nightfall at the heroic difficulty level:
Ghost mods are extremely helpful: Since Bungie has expanded the players’ ghosts along with the introduction of “Armor 2.0” gear, these have become more powerful. They have 4 mod slots, can be masterpieces, and have an energy pool.
Players can choose between four mod types: Experience mods, tracking mods, economic mods, and activity mods. Depending on what one is doing, the ghost should also be considered with a mod adjustment. Many players forget this and miss out on some helpful effects.
What do you think of the two farming methods? Are you already using the efficient ghost mods for your game to give yourself a small advantage?
